I am looking for a cheap form module, or any module which will allow me to collect data from the user. (Note can't use the UDT cause users won't be registering but data has to be "private") Just need it to shoot an email or save it to the database. I have looked around for some time and mostly just have found the ones on snowcovered which for a decent form generator run around 50 bucks. Looking for a simple lightweight pretty basic option. Only have 7 fields, two of which need to be drop down lists, rest is just textboxes. I have started on just building my own module but I need it a bit more asap then what I will be able to finish my module in.

Thanks for the help.

Helferlein Form will do it quite well. And it's free!

I have used the DataSprings module extensively. It can do amazing things but takes loads of time to program. Feedback Designer is a great module for more simple forms. It records the feedback form in the database and sends you (or whomever) an email. It has other nice features (like limitiing the number of characters someone can submit in a field) and is really easy to set up. If you need the data to be xls format for download you will need DataSprings, FD just records the submitted form in the database.

I would say that 'cheap' is not nearly as important as finding something that does what you need it to do and has good support. Like Greg Brown says "Time ain't  money when all you got is time."

Thanks,

duchoangle: Thanks Helferlein's form module is awesome allows me to both email and store to the DB, has all the basic form controls, and is free perfect for my solution. Just a simple basic forms module for one client to collect 7 fields with. I have looked at the others via free trials etc, so far I like this one almost as much as one of the over the top forms, just cause its so purely simple. The viewing of the saved data is not great, but its saved in the database so I will just make a table to pull it in a bit better. Thanks for the help.
