It was recently brought to my attention that my Feedback form (the standard module that is packaged with DNN) is only sending emails sporadically. This is not good. I now have to go back through our comments and send them to the correct people.

I have found, to my irritation, that the built-in comment viewer is truncating my messages. I'm not sure if this is something that is permanent (info is stored in the DB that way) or if the comment portion of the module is simply refusing to display the full message.

I'm using version 4.4.1 on DNN 4.6.2.

I've already built an alternative form in XMod that is working, but I really need to gain access to the previous posts.

Is there any way to increase the amount of info that the comment section will display?

The feedback form piggy backs off the email functionality in DNN, so if you're saying it was sending it sporadically, I'd check where the issue was in the general email setup  in DNN...

With regards to the message being truncated, it's always been set at a max of 1000 characters so you should be able to save up to 1000 characters without any issues. Not sure if in your case your users were submitting more than 1000 characters....

Yes, I found out that problem today (when I was finally able to access the database). I hadn't realized that the feedback module was limited like that. We've been using the feedback module for over a year with no problems. See, when it saves it to the database, it is limited to 1000 characters, but when it sends the email, it sends everything in the "Message" field, regardless of character count.

Perhaps we can add this to the list of things that need to be encorporated into a future release? It would be lovely to have one of those displays of how many characters you have left to type, and if the administrator could set that at a specific length. That would be sweet.

Regarding the email issue, we still have no idea why it wasn't sending the emails. We have forms, made in XMod, that have been sending emails just fine and they use the DNN email functionality. Why would the feedback module choke? Could the module be corrupted? Would it help to install the latest release do you suppose?
