A possibility is that the server had a problem during the application of service packs, which were distributed this week by Microsoft.  Depending on how updates are setup on the server, you just have to reboot the server.

You know that probably was the actual culprit. I forgot about all those stupid service pack updates that went out this past week. I will have to throw up a post on my hosts forums for other people incase they hit this same snag.
