Matthias--

The User has the ability in the Forum User Settings ('my settings') to check the box of 'Display Email Address'. However, that doesn't seem to drive anything. Even the User himself does not see the email address. This is true for all Users, except the Forum Admin. This User can see all other Users' email addresses. Is this connected to the 'trusted user' check box? What can I do to allow all Registered Users the ability to click the email and respond privately to the User who posted the item? Again, Private Messaging will not work in this application because the Users do not have Notifications checked.

Thank you

Jennifer

Jennifer,

the users E-mail is by the users forum profile, it is only viewed to all users and if it is allowed in the users "my settings".  There is no diffencing between userroles.  You can view the Email if you click on the users name in the thread or Forums Last Post.

I will check about Notification on PM, if I can reproduce it I will post it as a bug.

I think I understand how the email address showing up is supposed to work, but it just isn't happening for me. I could be misunderstanding something.

I have a User who checked the Display Email Address box on their 'forums--my settings'.

The Forum Admin can see the email address in the Forum User Settings.

No other Users can see that email address, no matter what I do.

Regarding the PM/Notifications, I don't think there is a problem with the PM that I can see. The only reason I'm not using PM is because in order to get notifications about new Private Messages, my Users get notifications of EVERYTHING, including that annoying blank email for every deleted post.

Thanks

Jennifer

I think this are known issues that will be fixed in one of the next versions.  Many Notification issues are allready fixed in next version.  I post an enhancement to the gemini to add a freature for disable the PM notification in my-setting.

All other issues you posted are allready known issues as this points:

  • Users E-Mail only visible by admins - must be for reg. users (allready in gemini)
  • disable feature for Forum Notification in my-settings (allready in gemini)
  • blank E-Mail on deleted post notification (allready in gemini)
  • diable feature for PM Notifications (I allready posted today as enhancement)
