Hi forum,

Can't find anything which works via the search function, so guess I'll have to ask :-)

I've got a set of ASP.net 2.0 web services which provide data to an Adobe Flex application. Now, I want to be able to access information on the currently logged in user within DotNetNuke, so that I can control access to data within the webservice.

All of the information I need is in the UserInfo object.  From within ASP.net (2.0), how can I obtain a reference to the UserInfo of the currently logged in user?

Eventually I'd like to build the web services (and the Flex application) into DNN as a module, but for now simply accessing the security information will do ;-)

Cheers,

Ryan

Within your module you can use "this.UserInfo" (C# code) or Me.UserInfo (VB code) to obtain a reference of them assuming the module is inheriting from at least PortalModuleBase.

Otherwise you can call DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo() to get the currently logged in user information from a page or module that isn't inheriting PortalModuleBase.

Thanks, that got me there :-)

Did a bit more googling, any found a module called IWebLite, which is designed to be used specifically with DNN and web services.  Works a treat, too.
