I've just created 2 separate modules.  on these modules i am using the urlcontrol found in the ./controls/ folder in the dnn install.

I am using only the file and file upload features of this control. 

The first control I built the file dropdownlist has a default value of <none specified>.

On the Second control it just lists the contents of the portals folder.  How do i get the <none specified> option to show up?  I've cut and pasted my code from the module it's working in and still no lucky! 

Any Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Check the ASCX declaration of the control and make sure that "required" is set to "false".  When it is set to "true" it requires something and eliminates the <none specified> option.  Also check to make sure you aren't changing it in the code to be required since the code will override the ASCX declaration.

Example:

<portal:url id="urlLink" runat="server" width="300" required="False" showtabs="True" showfiles="True"
 showUrls="True" ShowUsers="true" showlog="False" shownone="False" shownewwindow="False" showtrack="False" UrlType="T" />
