Hi.

I've inherited a DNN install from an exiting employee and would like to bring DNN up to the latest version.  Its currently running 2.1.2.  Is there a direct upgrade path from 2.1.2 to 4.8.2?  What is the safest method to upgrade from that far back?

Also, they need it to have more than 999MB of space for the portal, is that available in later versions?  Thanks!

The 3 digit space limitation was rectified in 3.x.

The good news is that DNN has been designed and built specifically for upgrade from version to version.  However, having said that, it is wise to look carefully at your installation and plan this out.  There are certain versions of DNN that make sense to move to, pause, consider module upgrades, change of ASP.Net version, etc.  But unless you have custom code that requires adjustment or abandoned 3rd party modules... you should be able to plan and navigate a successful upgrade.  I am sure many posts will follow which will help you with details along the way, but in a nutshell it looks something like this:

~ Upgrade to 3.3.7 (some would say to go to 3.2.2 first, then to 3.3.7)
~ Switch to ASP.Net 2.0
~ Upgrade to 4.5.3 (some would say 4.5.5)
~ Go from there.

I've checked the Downloads page, and cannot find either ASP.NET 2.2 or DNN 4.5.3  Is there another place I should be looking?
