Hello,

I'm looking for some information or "best practice advice" for my setup.

I'm would like to setup AD Authentication on our production environment. This is a stand alone webserver server located at our datacenter with DNN setup (A). Our network is located in house and is an AD domain (B). Both sites are firewalled as well.

I would like to authenticate DNN on A using the AD domain in house at B. I was thinking that I had to setup a domain at A and a trust relationship between the two and then setup the AD provider.

Is it possible to point our DNN install to authenticate from A to B without setting up a domain on the stand alone server.
Also how would I go about starting this process.

thanks.

sk.

Everything I've read and experienced says that the webserver has to be part of the domain it needs to authenticate against. I suggest looking at Softerra's LDAP browser (http://www.ldapbrowser.com/download.htm) for preliminary testing. If you can connect to the AD with that and retrieve user information then you should be able to get the AD provider to work as well.
