Hmm, thats an idea I had not thought of to accomplish that.  The module is localized, so you should be able to change the label of that field by going to Host - Languages, clicking on Language Editor, select the appropriate resource (resx) file and edit the appropriate entry.  I believe the proper resource file would be the following:

Local Resources\Admin\Users\App_LocalResources\ManageUsers.ascx

Thanks for the reply.  I see what you mean I followed your instructions using language editor but could not find the Cell Phone Number record in ManageUsers.ascx or even Users.ascx.  Would.t that info be on Register page? I am trying to get the company name of the registrant when they initially are registering.

Thanks for the help.

Like jmcwilliam mentioned, localization can solve this fairly easily; however, a better solution would be to extend the current capabilities. Think about it this way: if custom modules/controls will need to grab the extra field, they'll have to use the cell phone property, instead of one for the company name specifically. I'm sure you can see the issues with this. It works, but it's obviously a hokey work-around (don't get me wrong, I did the same thing a while back; but eventually changed it to do it the "right" way).

Yeah, changing the field label without actually changing the field is definitely a messy way to do it.

There are also several 3rd party modules that allow you to totally customize the user registration process.   They would let you create your desired Company Name field.  I use the UCanUse User Attributes (www.ucanuse.com).  I beleive there are several others out there such as Dynamic Registration 2.0 module from Data Springs which seems to be popular on Snowcovered.

Ah, yeah, the ManageUsers.ascx is the proper control, but I forgot it calls several controls itself.  The cell phone field is a part of the Address control and the resource file is located in:

LocalResources\Controls\App_LocalResources\Address.ascx
