Are you running in a webfarm or webgarden setup?

Currently we are a webfarm with replicated files.

I'm definitely not a webfarm guy, but I believe that caching is the biggest actual issue with running a webfarm.

Have you reviewed the webfarm document?

Perhaps someone with some more webfarm experience can step up and help with you issue.

Can you turn off file synchronization on the cache directory?

Switching to the Broadcast Polling Cache provider should make these errors go away.

Also make sure you have the Host > Host Settings +Module Caching set to Memory instead of disk.
