Franco, thank you for logging the issue, hopefully the DNN developers will take care of it for one of the next releases.

Cheers from Germany,

Hi, I found the DesktopModules/Authentication/Login.ascx.vb file in my first site (DNN5.4.2) but I can't find it in my second site (DNN5.5.1) Is there a similar solution for this version ?

I had the same problem in DNN 4.9.5

Here my solution

I added in DesktopModules\AuthenticationServices\DNN\Login.ascx.vb in Region "Event Handlers" in Private Sub Page_Load the line:
    Page.Form.Attributes.Add("autocomplete", "on")

It works perfect, only on the login page the autocomplete is set to "on".

whatever you do to make your DNN installation less secure, thats your own choice. However, IF you do it, do it the right way, and don't start changing core files. You will loose those changes when you upgrade the application, so you will need to keep track of all your changes somewhere....

The better way to do it is to create your own functionality and use that. EG. its pretty easy to make a copy of the core authentication provider and create your own. Whatever security measures you remove or add will be completly up to you then.
