I have enabled OpenID on my public website and tested it with a myOpenID account.  Everything works fine with myOpenID but this is where I'm confused.

Does the OpenID authentication provider only work with myOpenID, and with that assumption does each person that wants to use OpenID need an account with myOpenID first?

For instance, I have a Yahoo mail account and I have enabled OpenID for my yahoo account, but I cannot use http://myuserid.yahoo.com with DNN OpenID.
On the myOpenID website I have added my domain for authentication (http://myuserid.domain.com) but in order to use this for authentication I have to create individual userid's on the myOpenID website.

Oh, and one more thing.  The link for "Get an OpenID" link, when enabled, does not work.  Can you tell me which file this link is in so maybe I can fix it.
Thanks..

At this point yes it is myOpenID that it's associated with. I don't have the code handy but I believe that's what the Jahrain.openid.dll checks against.

To fix the link you need to add the following procecure to the login.ascx.cs file

protected void cmdRegister_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            Response.Redirect("http://www.myopenid.com");
        }

and around line 210 (look for cmdLogin.Click) add

cmdRegister.Click += new EventHandler(cmdRegister_Click);

There is a new dotnetopenid library that I've heard about but don't know a whole lot about (I don't know a lot about the current one either). If it is more robust and far reaching (ie: multiple OpenID accounts) then I'll look at incorporating that into Charles' original OpenID provider code.
