I have a hosted client site that was working fine up until today.  One of my team members was uploading a PDF file to /Portals/0/Content/Pdfs/ while he has out of the room and logged into the site as Admin.  When he came back into the room the following error was showing on his screen:

Unhandled Error

Error Details

File
Error  Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1). error CS2001: Source file 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\nlivhuqq.0.cs' could not be found error CS2008: No inputs specified

Although you can't see it, there is a broken image place marker in the upper left of the screen which is trying to load a file called /logo.gif, which of course doesn't exist.  The Microsoft Knowledgebase article KB322886 didn't help either, which was the only reference that was returned in my search that seemed related to what I am experiencing.

I tried recreating the site on my local machine using the following steps:
  1. Created a new virtual directory in IIS (WinXP Pro SP2 with all of the critical updates installed) for the site
  2. Modified the Execute Permissions to Scripts and Executables and added the default document of Default.aspx (for whatever reason this isn't automatically added by IIS when a new virtual directory is created)
  3. Created a new SQL 2005 database and added the appropriate user to the database (same username and password as the hosted site is using) and added the appropriate db_owner permissions
  4. Added the ASPNET user account and set up the appropriate permissions
  5. Copied a fresh set of the install files to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\sitename
  6. Successfully installed DNN and was able to see the default installed home page
  7. Deleted all of the views and tables from the SQL 2005 database
  8. Imported the data from a backup of the original site database (which is the same version of DNN as I was installing locally) to recreate the data of the hosted site locally
  9. Browsed to the local version of the client site and get exactly the same error as mentioned above (exact except for the temporary filename listed which changes each time you try to access the site).
I'm wondering if anyone has seen this kind of thing before and what the problem is, what created the problem as well as a solution.  There is a fair bit of content in the database that we don't want to have to recreate so a non-destructive solution would be the best case scenario.

Thank you for any input you may have.

Looks like the permissions changed.  Here is the exact error from msdn.
