I did a clean install of the "install" package of DNN4.8.2 with the minimum required modules, and confirmed that it was running properly.

Then I ran a build in VS2008. It generated no errors. However it did generate 45 warnings which occurred mostly in the *.vb codefiles for the *.ascx controls.

Does the Core Team plan a 4.8.3 release which cleans up these warnings that appear in VS2008?

While I can develop my own modules by ignoring these warnings, I prefer to develop in a clean environment.

Has anybody else observed the same issues? Any suggestions?

Thanks

I don't believe there are any intentions (though don't consider that official) to do a 4.8.3 release, the DNN 5 release should be coming soon.

Chris,

Thanks for reply.

Any hint on how soon soon is? Would that be measured in days, weeks, or months?

Hopefully the new release will come fully prepared and intended for use with VS2008? Hopefully with new templates in the Starter Kit for module development?

From the latest DNN newsletter

"As we head into May, we are preparing for our first public Beta release of our next generation software platform. With a four month development cycle under our belts, there are some truly innovative features which will finally see the light of day. I am very pleased with what has been accomplished and look forward to getting feedback from the community feedback in regards to our improved value proposition." -Shaun Walker

That's all the info available right now.

As for your "warnings" are they related to core modules/code? Or third party modules you've installed?
