We are setting up a new site and almost ready to go live. The problem we have run into is that password reminders aren't sent. If you check the event viewer, the error log shows the server name, the ip from where you are trying to log in and cause is blank. The test e-mail from the SMTP settings works fine, but that is it. We are running 4.7. Any ideas?

How about the SMTP logs?

Where would I find the SMTP logs? Only logs in could find in DNN was in the event viewer, which didn't list a cause. I checked on the Exchange server and nothing gets that far. This is only using the password reminder link. User creation and change password both work fine, e-mails get sent properly.

The SMTP logs would be on the mail server.  Other logs you should be aware of for DNN are the IIS logs and the Event logs, available through Event Viewer.  For help with IIS logs try www.iis.net.  SMTP logs would show connection attempts and what was being attempted, including addresses.
