I'm using DotNetNuke 4.8.1 with VS2005 on Vista.

I want to enable windows authentication for my DotNetNuke site. I've found the part of the web.config about authorization, but when i comment out the forms-part and enable the windows-part, the website starts an infinite loop.

Can somebody help me?

Thanks

- Varcour

OK, I think I fixed it... I did a clean install on our testserver and windows authentication is enabled. Must have been a localhost thing.

I'm displaying Page.User.Identity.Name in a label. With forms-authentication it is "host", but when I turn on windows authentication, it is blank.

Can someone tell me how to get the username of the person trying to access the site?

I get the same error with the infinate loop, but I do not want to re-install the website and I want to know the cause of it incase this happens in production.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thank You

Peter

you have to install the AD authentication provider. See this post for more info: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/141701/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Just use Me.UserInfo.UserName

Userinfo will always hold the info of the current user, no matter what authentication was used
