Hi folks,

I am running SQL Server Express with Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition. I downloaded the starterkits first and then the source code.

My first clue that I might have problems is that when I start the installation I am missing the images (for banner and next button).

I proceeded anyway, thru the next couple of pages (file permission,test SQL Server connection) however when I get to the

"Run Database Installation Scripts" I receive a javascript error

 Line: 107

Char: 13

Error: Object Expected

URL: http://localhost:4634/DotNetNuke/Install/Install/InstallWizard.aspx

and the installation scripts seem to run forever. It seems like the relative paths are incorrect (both for images and perhaps Javascript file).

Any ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks

Tom

Just a follow-up.

Might this be a problem because I am using Visual Studio standard tht does not come with IIS but rather uses the "ASP.NET development Server". There is no

way to configure Virtual Directories with this server.

thoughts?

Tom

Not sure what the problem is but when you get to this point just copy the URL e.g http://localhost:1685/DNNDev/Install/install.aspx  from internet explorer where its falls over into a firefox browser and the database gets created in the new window.

Might work with a new internet explorer window instead of firefox haven't tested it.

function reportAction(s) {
    $("txtFeedback").value += s;
}

The error happens at the above function. The firebug error console says "$ is not defined".

I am using VS2005 Pro, Web Site using asp.net developement server.

Update.

I just installed using IIS and did not use the development server to install DotNetNuke.
