Hi Everybody,

                          can somebody help me as I am trying to install DNN on my local machine. Now the SQL server that i am suing is remote. When I am connection to it error comes error 40. connection can not be established. Do i have to get some rights for that....on the remote server.

If you have SQL Server Management Studio Express (if not, download it for free from Microsoft's website), try using it to connect to the remote database server.  If you can, use the name, uid, and password used to connect in your DotNetNuke connection string.  Your login will need to have db owner privileges, and you can check those if you've logged into the SQL server.
