Hi, I installed dnn with no problem on a 2003+SqlServerExpress quite easily. From this machine I access the installation through http://localhost. I added a portal alias (an IP address cos so far I still no have a domain bought) to get acces from outside the computer. But when I try to access the site using http://TheIPAdress I've got redirected to http://localhost.

I'm quite sure it's a configuration problem, but I don't know else where to look for.

Any advise appreciated.

Remove the alias that contains localhost in it.  Then, DotNetNuke won't try to redirect.

Thanks Joe, but somehow I can't edit that entry, a pencil does not appear to be modified. May be because It's the first entry on the portal aliases list?

Not sure if this is your fix, but for me it was my hosting settings. I use directnic, and I'd set the redirection to :

Redirect with No Frame
Any traffic going to your domain will be redirected to a URL of your choice, such as your pre-existing web site on another server. Traffic will be redirected directly to your site, by using a HTTP 302 redirect. The destination URL will be displayed in the "Location" field of the browser

when it should have been:

Redirected
Any traffic going to your domain will be redirected to a URL of your choice, such as your pre-existing web site on another server. This will be done by including your website within a HTML frame. Your directNIC domain name will remain in the "Location" field of the browser.

Problem sorted for me, and infact removing the localhost stopped me from access the site as localhost.....

Solved but... instead of the IP I wrote the server name (esteve.no-ip.....) and worked.

Thanks all for the help.
