Hello,

I am trying to configure DotNetNuke on my machine. I have downloaded the source, install, and docs files. I am going through the installation guide and can not seem to get it to work. As soon as i hit my local machine's dotnetnuke directory, it gives me the "The Page cannot be displayed" error message.  I have created a new virtual directory like the guide talks about and also have created the database in sql with the new user and their permission like the guide talks about. i have the following.

Windows server 2003 SP2 & MSSQL 2005 Standard SP2.

Please help.

-- Did you set the directory permissions on the DotNetNuke directory?

-- Do you have frienly error messages on or off in Internet Explorer?  Whatever it is change it and access the site again to see if you get a different error.  If you do post it here.

-- In the VD settings, make sure you "Created An Application" for the directory.  If this is not done it can cause issue with ASP.Net applications.  Sorry I cannot give you exact steps where to set this, I have Vista/IIS 7 and right now do not have access to a Win2003/IIS machine to get the specific information.

Also ensure that ASP.NET is enabled in the Web Extensions portion of IIS.  In Win 2K3 server it is disabled by default!
