For me, the most important feature for any menu system is it's ability to output clean search engine friendly XHTML which is easily stylable with CSS.

Don't forget third party menus, such as the House Menu or Snapcis.

I personally like the Snapsis CSS NavMenu, it is what I use on my site and I have never looked back after making the change!

I use snapsis for my own sites, but tend to lean against it for others, mainly cause I hate charging 48 bucks for a skin just cause it has snapsis in it. I use House of nuke's Housemenu a bunch (Just started using the HouseMenu 2 beta) It looks promising, Finally with the next release of DNN they are suppost to have tons of add-ons / improvements to the NAV menu, so might want to wait to see where it goes before droping money on a 3rd party.

House of Nuke is free by the way.
