I search the forum for a while and I could not find a solution to my problem. The events module doesn't allow me to add events. The error seems to be related to the SQL server but that doesn't seem to make any sense.

Here is some log info:

InnerException: An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

Any Ideas?

Have you checked in your web.config that both connection strings are set the same?

Cheers

I'm a bit lost I only used one connection string in the past. Do I now need two?

connectionStrings> Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=myDB.isqsolutions.com;Database=myDB;uid=MyUser;pwd=MyPwd" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005-->connectionStrings>

<c

<!--

<

<!--

<add

name="SiteSqlServer"

connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;"

providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

</

You should see one in the ConnectionSettings section (which you have shown above), and one in the AppSettings section (directly below ConnectionSettings). This needs to be set exactly the same:-

    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=myDB.isqsolutions.com;Database=myDB;uid=MyUser;pwd=MyPwd" />

Note quite sure why it is needed for the Events module, but pretty sure it is.
