I have been trying all day to implement AD in DNN4 without success! Here is the error message that I get:

Accessing Global Catalog:
FAIL
Checking Root Domain:
OK
Accessing LDAP:
FAIL
Find all domains in network:
Could not access LDAP to obtain domains info
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

I don't think the password is the problem as I am using a password that has full access to AD. I desperatly need some step by step instructions for the AD setup for DNN.

Thanks

James

A restart of  IIS fixed the problem and AD is now working.

Hi,

I've configured DNN 4.0.2 to enable windows authentication. While updating the windows authentication settings in the Admin->Authentication page, i got the following messages:

Accessing Global Catalog:
OK
Checking Root Domain:
OK
Accessing LDAP:
OK
Find all domains in network:
2 domain(s):
.....
.....

In the Admin->Security Roles page, i edit the Administrators user account. When i click on the link "Manage Users in this Role", i do not see all the users of my Domain. I have observed that, user name is populated in the drop down list only after a user has hit my application URL atleast once.

Is there a particular configuration setting i need to enable, to view a list of all users of my domain when i want to "Manage Users for a Role"?

Thank you,

Vamshi.

The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.

I am getting this error. What may be reason behind this. As per my knowledge i am puting right domain name , user name, password.

Please help me  soon.

Looks like the authentication module cannot find the AD.  Make sure you put in the correct information into the Root Domain field.

The quick help for that is:

Root Domain in format yourdomain.com or DC=yourdomain,DC=com. Leave this value blank if you want to obtain Active Directory objects from root forest

If leaving it blank does not work, then enter the domain information in the format listed.
