I am just getting started with skinning 4.8.2, and thanks to some of the documentation..and mostly the very helpful posts I was able to understand most of the options available for the skin.

..now on to the containers - can someone help me understand why the container actions menu can be customized through the use of CSS classes when they are not specified in the XML file?  Trying to understand how that can happen, because the container does not seem to work the same way as skins in this regard.  Trying to understand how the classes in the container.css (such as .ModuleTitle_MenuItem TD, ModuleTitle_MenuItemSel, etc.) can be associated with the Actions menu without being explicitly associated throught the xml file?

I am using the DNNMenuNavigationProvider for my container's [ACTIONS].

Thanks,

-Chris

The action menu items are dynamically created as each module has different items, thus the need for styling via CSS.

Thanks, Mitch - and this does make sense, but Where are the classes in container.css associated with the actions menu?

I am trying to find out all of the styles classes available for use to customize the actions menu - I have been looking at containers such as dnn-gray up to this point to see what they are naming the classes used to customize the actions menu...are the ones in these examples all that are available?

I noticed that with the skins you had to name the css classes in the skin.xml file associated with the skin, but this does not seem to be done in the container.xml - so where does this association take place?

Look in _default/default.css

You'll find a bunch of classes like "ModuleTitle_MenuItem", those are the ones for the action menu.

Chris,

On thing that might really help you with getting to know DNN skinning/css classes is the FireFox Web Developer toolbar.  You can click on any element and view the exact styles applied to it, in order!
