We accidentally installed DNN into wwwroot - where a Microsoft CRM 4 is in production servicing clients. We have lost the integrity of the CRM system (webconfig overwritten etc). Can anyone advise how to correct this.

ie does DNN use unique names for all or most modules. Can we easily delete all the DNN modules and simply copy back in a webconfig from CRM?

How best to recover?

usually, you should have a backup.

Besides I suggest to unzip locally and delete same files from server, important are /App_code and /Bin folders as well as web.config and default.aspx files.

I would recommend a full restore from existing backups.

You probably can't just delete the DNN stuff and be done.  Both probably use a Default.aspx file for example, and you need to delete the one from DNN and restore the one it overwrote.

Best is delete the appropriate folders and reinstall a backup of CRM.
