I'm trying to set up windows authentication in a child portal (http://domain/portal/child) as explained in the user's guide (1.0.3 march 26, 2008 version), and have it working just fine as far as a standard windows login goes.  I'm trying to simply fhe process as suggested on page 9 by providing a link to http://domain/portal/child/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx, but when I go to that page I get a 404 error.  If I try the url http://domain/portal/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx then I get a page that says "Windows Authentication Disabled.  Please contact your administrator."

We do not need to use windows authentication in the parent portal.

Any ideas?

1.0.3 and below have issues with child portals. However, I'm pretty sure I've got it fixed in the .04 beta (http://dnn.gmss.org) if you want to try it.

I downloaded 1.0.4 and installed it.  No luck - still got the 404 error.  I then uninstalled the provider and installed 1.0.4 with the same negative results.

I'm running under DNN 4.6.2 if that makes any difference.

Try copying the WindowsSignin.aspx to the child directory (<DNN_Install>\Child) and link to that. You may also have to get the source code and copy the WindowsSignin.aspx.vb file in there as well but I don't think so.

That worked (almost) after I turned off anonymous access and turned on integrated authentication.  I was logged in, but not with my network id.  I was logged in with a different, shared id that my group uses to access the shared drives on the computer.  How does the authentication determine the id to use?
