I have one of my custom modules I've loaded into my new VS2005 local environment as part of my transition from VS2003 and DNN3.  Anyway, I notice this happens with my ViewModule.ascx file (but no other .ascx files)...  I load up the .ascx file and the code is shown.  I click the "design" tab and shows "building controls..." and then goes to "MSVS 2005 experienced a problem and needs to close" and then it reboots the program.  I can't get that .ascx into design mode.  Anybody know of some gotchas that make this happen?  Thanks much.

It appears it was the references to some Telerik controls.  Once I took this blurb out of the .ascx file it worked.  When I put it back in, it throws an error in Design mode.  Is this a problem with VS or my .ascx?

<%@ Register TagPrefix="radg" Namespace="Telerik.WebControls" Assembly="RadGrid.Net2" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="radcln" Namespace="Telerik.WebControls" Assembly="RadCalendar.Net2" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="radi" Namespace="Telerik.WebControls" Assembly="RadInput.Net2" %>
<%@ Register  TagPrefix="radA" Namespace="Telerik.WebControls" Assembly="RadAjax.Net2"%>

BTW, the module works on this install and all the RadControls are in the bin...

Are you running the latest version of the Telerik controls?  What about VS 2005 SP1?  I'm not exactly sure what version we were running because it was about a year ago, but there was an issue with the r.a.d. controls rendering properly in design view.  Personally, I never use design view, but I know one of my developers was able to get it working. The fix was either SP1 for VS 2005 or an updated set of controls from Telerik.  You may also want to consider asking Telerik since you have narrowed it down to their controls.

Thanks Will.  Yeah it's VS 2005 SP1 but the Rad Controls are older because I don't have the money to buy the newest ones.  Thanks much for the response.
