I have a DNN website which provides access to a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) based on the security roles that users have been added to. We have set up a security role for each of the SIGs and members of a SIG are added to the corresponding role.

What I want is a module that will allow members of a SIG to discover who the other members of that SIG are, and to see which of them are online currently (a bit like the Users Online Module but limited to the scope of that SIG or all the members who have that role assigned to them).

Before we started using DNN we were using Microsoft Sharepoint to provide the SIGS and the members were able to see each other's profiles and see who was online.

Does anyone know of a module that can support this kind of behaviour?

Many thanks, Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Have you seen the Smart-Thinker UserProfile module? In the directory view you can filter on roles and who's online. You can even filter on who is online viewing the current tab. Have a look at the Poker Profile Directory (Who's Awake tab) to see what I mean (this is just the Registered Users role) who are online.

There is also free UserDirectory from Effority, which can be downloaded from the DotNetNuke Forge (see icon above).

Our client has requested changes for Users Online the module (can see here http://freedotnetnuke.com/RequestForFreeModule/tabid/66/FreeModuleRequestID/8/Default.aspx). If you like, you can post this additional and we will be happy to add it for free. Think it will be good module for all guys ;)
