Hello,

Apologise if this has already been covered in a previous post.

I am currently building a custom membership provider to authenticate users against a number of third party databases. I was wondering if there is an easy way of adding my provider to the Admin->Authentication Settings page (some sort of interface I can inherit from maybe?). What I would love to achieve is have a button for each type of my custom authentication methods (just like you can have "Standard" "LiveID" "OpenID" if those authentication methods are enabled).

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you all!

M

Take a look at the .dnn files for the current providers. That should help you get started. If you package everything up like the current providers there shouldn't be a problem getting your provider registered.

Hi Mike,

thank you for your reply. So its more of a configuration issues then a coding one - kinda makes sense. Ok, once I have finished the first provider I will try to go down that route. Hopefully it wont be too complicated :)

Thank you!

M

Yes it's more of a configuration issue. However you'll also need to look at your Settings and Login page. Those are both wrapped by Admin\Authentication Services\Login.ascx (I guessing on the path, I don't have a dnn install handy) and another Settings.ascx. Depending on what language you're using (VB or C#) take a look at the login and settings pages of the other providers hints on how they overload the wrapper's procedures.
