I am preparing a custom Profile Provider. The behaviour of the Provider can be adjusted by setting configuration values (in the form of attributes) in the <add> element of web.config where the provider has been defined (e.g. like properties are defined for the Membership Provider)

Does DNN provides any convinient method to a Provider to retrieve attributes defined in the web.config for the same Provider, or I will have to parse web.config myself???

Okay, I found a solution to this one also. There's a

DotNetNuke.Framework.ProviderConfiguration

class, that can help you to retrieve configuration items set in web.config.

Use its GetProviderConfiguration method, & Providers property to get access to any desired Provider & its configuration. Also, remember that GetProviderConfiguration requires the type of Provder (profiles, data, membership etc.) which you are looking out for!!!
