Howdy,

Not sure if this is an issue with DNN or an issue with the documents module but it is happening on both of my installs. I'm not entirely sure if the names are the issue as to why it isn't sorting properly or not, but thought I would check.

I have a few documents in the module all with different names but the tital is like Annual Report 2008, Annual Report 2007, Annual Report 2006 etc. I would like to have the 2008 report show up at the top and then go in decending order from there. However no matter what setting I try, even creating a sort index on each of the items it will not rearange them to the way I would like to have it. However if I give the user the ability to sort it will sort them acending or decending.

Any thing that I need to check?

Thanks,
Dd.

At this time there is a bug with the current version (4.0.0) where the default sort order is not being applied.

User sorting after the fact, by clicking on titles if enabled, does work as expected.

We are working on an updated module release to resolve the issue.

Thanks! I was hoping that it was something I had done hah. I have turned on user sorting at the moment. I'll probably keep that on actually because it works really well.

How did you allow the users to sort the documents list ascendingly and descendingly?

Nelly,

To enable it in the system you simply check the option in the settings that allow the users to sort.

If you are talking about from a code perspective it is done with a few simple checks to see if the current sort expression is the same, if it is, we simply flip the values around.
