Are there any good social networking modules out there? Is anyone using one of these? I have seen 2 and the demos available look terrible. I hate to prchase one and not be able to get it to look better than what i have seen in these demos.

Wait a month.

MyProfile has just been taken over by Active Modules and they are promising some big things soon. MyDNN looks promising as well and certainly less buggy however there next update is due in ~4 weeks and will include things such as profile skins/themes and better comment support along with other additions. So I'd wait a month or so, and then take a look at both of them and see which seems to pull ahead of the other with their next revisions.
