Hi,

I installed some Versions of DNN in the past, but since today I can not finishing the installation. I am running Win 2003, SQL Server 2005 and VS2005.

Using DNN DotNetNuke_04.08.03_Source.zip! Installed it to 'C:/DotNetNuke'. File security was succsessful, Database access was successful. I entered the 'Host' and 'Admin' login credentials and then the system told me Installation successfull - Goto Website! Then the system running and running. IE-Progressbar 'flickers' and thats it!

I started VS2005 and loaded the solution. Hit F5 and it is the same.

I get the following Exceptions in the Debug window:

"System.NullReferenceException" in DotNetNuke.DLL

"System.Security.SecurityException"  in mscorlib.dll

And these exceptions are looping!

Any idea, whats going on????

I believe you need to compile the source version before you can install it.

If you are not editing the source try downloading the install version from the downloads page on dotnetnuke.com and you should be fine just doing it as you have now.

Thanks

Paul

well, the install version is supposed to be working, so i do not understand what you are asking or saying here. If you need the source version, just download it from the same page you downloaded the install version (http://downloads.dotnetnuke.com)

Don't use the source version for an installation.  Use it for source for development if you need.  The source is not compiled and will not run until you compile it properly.
