When a user tries to register on a DNN instance (verified in version 4.5.1 and 4.8.3), they do not seem to be able to use an email address that contains a hyphen in the username section of the address:

e.g. test-user@domain.com

An address is accepted however if a hyphen is used in the domain name:

e.g. testuser@my-domain.com

Is there anywhere to change the validation settings for this, or is this just a known issue?

Thanks,

Ben

AFAIR you can adopt the regex for email validation in Admin :: Users, "User Settings".
