I have scanned the forum to determine if you can use AD Authentication on more than one child portal.I was unable to locate a definte answer. I have succesfully set up one child portal using AD but when I try and set up the second one I am unable to get it to work. It is authenticating but not logging the user in. It still says login or register in the login area. If the DNN Authentication module does not accomodate this can anyone recommend a third party module that would  work.  Thanks

The 01.00.04 beta should work properly with child portals. You can find it at http://dnn.gmss.org.

Your message got approved while I was typing a similar one of my own. I have a child running independently of the parent. It works whether the parent is using AD or not. I just now added a second kid and am using AD on it as well. All of them work perfectly.

Thanks that did it. I loaded the beta and it is working properly. One other question. When a user navigates to the page is automatically picks up the AD account and creates an account in DNN. I have synchronized checked under the authentication settings. The problem is that it is not assigning a profile. When a user signs into the first portal I created it automatically assigns them a Registered User, Subscriber profile. Why is it not doing it for this second portal?

Thanks

Brian, when you look in the User Accounts list the user is there but if you look in the Registered User role or the Subsciber role the user doesn't show up there correct? I'll have to look into it to see if I can recreate it.
