After i ran the update for 4.8.3 none of my accounts can login.  I double check that the machinekey tag is the same from old web.config to the new web.config and both match. any ideas what can be causing the problem.

I suspect that some files were corrupted during the upload.

Does any one have any idea how do I compare the file structure in the server to the one in the upgrade package? (Not the modules or skins, just the ones that were overwritten by the upload/upgrade)

Is it a good idea to upload again the files on top of the files that are in the server? I do not mean re upgrade but just rewrite them to make sure they are all good. If the upgrade process change only the DB and the web.config then it should not do further damage, right?

My problem is solved:
I forgot to pick the correct validationkey and descryptionkey from the old web.config file.

Now everything is ok.
