Just thinking about this a little more. One of the reasons for doing this is to look into the possibility of using DNN as a "lite" CMS that can be run from a memory stick. I am interesting in Document management and Workflow so being able to doing this from removable storage is an interesting idea. So Vista as an embedded DB would be great.

However I am unsure about the work involved in creating a data provider for Vista. However VistaDB is designed to be SQL Server Compatible. It can use the same T-SQL etc. Any ideas on how complicated this may be? Also would this task be just for the core DNN database/functions or would it be of use for 3rd party modules as well.

If this is not possible then I may have to investigate other CMSs which I do not want to do due the the large module ecosystem that DNN possesses.

Thanks,

Sam

Sam, if you do find any alternatives, PM me please. I have invested over 2 years into DNN but the company I am at now only use Firebird so DNN is a no go for me from now on which is a real shame
