hi,

       i want some information about DNN.liberary. if i change the contents in the DNN.liberary. then how i complile it and where i placeed the changed files. let i changed the userinfo.vb nad compilethe library files. some dll's will change. then where i place these changed dll's files in my orignal web?? means which files i replace in effect of this??

 

reply me. its urgent.

you need to open DotNetNuke solution in the root of the source package to edit dotnetnuke library in Visual Studio 2005 SP1 or 2008 (Standard/Professional/Team Ed.) and compile into dotnetnuke.dll to be found in /bin folder.

hi,

  i have done this but i found an error after placing this dll into my webs folder. which is as under. now plz tell me that how i fix this error. plz reply urgently

You really are heading into muddy waters if you start messing around with the DNN code or the DNN.library.
I cant suggest more highly that you look at other options to achieve your needs.

Firstly, if you change any part of the core you break your ability to upgrade to new versions.

Not to mention that many parts of DNN are tightly interwoven - and making changes to one area can often adversely affect other 
areas of the framework.

Since you indicate that you are messing with userinfo this can very much be the case.

This errors is occuring when the web application trys to start up for the first time.

Basically dnn is trying to workout what version is running and if it needs to run the installer to do an upgrade.
