Hi all,

Again I have this noob question... On my DNN site, I dont want user to register by themself. I only want the admin to register user, but the user still can login to the site once the registration is completed by the admin.

I've change the Login module so they wont be any "Register" button on it. But I just realise that the button is the only way to register user (correct this if I'm wrong please). So I kinda stuck here. Any sugestion?

Cheers,

Denny

Yes, that is not the way to do this.  You want the login link to appear in the skin, but you can login as an admin, go to Admin > Site Settings page and then under "Advanced Settings" you will see "User Registration:" and its the different options (you will want either None or Private).

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply. What I mean is that I dont want any user to select, even see, the register button in the account login. But, I still want the admin, or host, to be eligible to register new user.

If i made "private", I think the user still can register, the different only that the admin need to approve them, right? If I made "None" will the admin still can register new user?

Cheers,

Denny

Yes, None will remove the button/link and the admin can still setup accounts.  A good example of that is our (WillowTree's) employee portal.  No one can register, but I can create the accounts as we hire employees.

I know this post is old, but just in case anyone else was looking for another solution, then here it is:

just append the following to the URL Querystring: Default.aspx?ctl=Register
