Hello,

I can get our site to log users in using the active directory, but when it creates a user account it doesn't seem to be pulling the information from our active directory.

For example, I logon using lore\marka

The user account created looks like this:

User Name: lore\marka

First Name: marka

Last Name: lore

Display Name:

Email: marka@lorenet.com

However, none of those fields is correct. It seems to only be using the information in the user name to populate (if at all) the other fields.

Any suggestions on what I need to do to get our DNN site to populate the User Account with the correct info contained in our active Directory?

Thanks

Have you tried using impersonation in your web.config as per the documentation? I've run into instances where I wasn't getting complete information but once I used impersonation all the data started coming through.

Hi Mike,

I tried using <identity impersonate="true" userName="domain\username" password="password" />

I used a special AD account we have for AD work, and a real user with domain privledges in the strings above.  In both cases, the results were the same--the new user account that gets set up doesn't pull from the AD.  I tried playing around with several other things and still didn't have any success.

Any other ideas?

Do you have access to the webserver? The only thing I can suggest is to try LDAPBrowser (http://www.ldapbrowser.com) on the server to see what you can pull from the AD with that. It'll help narrow down whether the problem is in the provider or in the communication between the server and the AD.
