Redot,

If you're not sure what to do you can email your ftp login to peter at cestuswebsites dot  nl. I can do it for you. I did an intership at Texas A&M in the late 80's and I am glad to help out.

Peter

Hi Robax,

Following is a list of steps that I carried out: PLease let me know if I have done it right.

  • I have been using the DNN-BLue skin, with some modifications to the skin.css file, as compared to the original skin.css file that was downloaded.(which I have compared with). I checked each line and there seems to be nothing missing, except for some minor changes in color specifications.
  • Hence I assumed that the skin is broken and hence I extracted the archived DNN-Blue.zip file. I got two more zip files: Skins.zip and Containers.zip.
  • I extracted the Skin.zip files and sent them to Portals/_default/Skins/DNN-Blue
  • I extracted the Container.zip files and sent them to Portals/_default/Containers/DNN-Blue
  • On typing out the web address again: steps.tamu.edu, I am again redirected to the following page which says an error has occurred: http://steps.tamu.edu/nuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0

Why do I get this error even now: Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object. This is where the problem mus be but I cannot figure what it means.

Please let me know where there problem might lie, and any suggestions to fix it, as this website is down for more than two days and I need to get it up as soon as possible.

Thank you

Redot

Peter,

I have sent the email once again at peter at cestuswebsites dot  nl. I am rewriting it here:

have checked the .css files for the skins and the containers in default blue, and they seem to be fine.
I dont understand why it reverts to this site when I try accessing the webpage:
http://steps.tamu.edu/nuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0

Why does it say Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object?

Has some link to the skin been broken? Does this mean I will have to reinstall the files? because I did extract the Zip files of the original skin and container available already, as I have mentioned in  detail in my previous post to Rob above in this thread. However it doesn't seem to have made a difference.
I need to get this fixed as soon as possible, hence any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for your time
Redot.
