I'm also facing the same problem. I noticed a java script error too in the page. it says

Line : 107

Char : 13

Error : Object expected

Code : 0

My browser version is IE 7.0.5730.13. Hope this would help to find out the issue.

I fixed that issue for my machine running on windows XP sp2.

The procedure is below.

  1. Go to DNN installation directory properties(By right clicking the folder)
  2. Go to Web Sharing tab
  3. Select the application name in Aliases box
  4. Click Edit Propertie.. button
  5. Then tick(select/check) Read combo box, Write and Directory Browsing combo boxes if any not selected (If not selected)

Hope this would fix your issue.
