I have had the SAME problem -- if anyone else is having this issue or anyone has any idea why this is happening -- I'd love to hear about it!

FF3 is a bit squirrely, IMHO.  I'm using FF2 until they get all the bugs worked out.  Or at least the bugs that matter to me!

Firefox 3 does have issues with DNN sites, I've noticed it too.  The forum is seems to be the main one.  The vertical buttons is one thing but the forum seems to work only half the time, sometimes I can't post a message and sometimes I can.  These problems occur for me here and on my site.  Not sure if it is an update to firefox that is needed or the forum module.  I haven't noticed problems beyond the forum module really though. But I also haven't fully checked everytyhing yet.
