Hey everyone. I'm brand new to DNN and am charged with building a website for my company. Everything is pretty straightforward, and seems to work fairly well, but I have hit a sort of stumbling block. For information's sake I am running DNN version 4.08.02 on a local host while building the site.

This is my problem: I sent out a 'test' newsletter to a role that has only one user (an email address of mine) and I have never received it. I also have tried setting up a forum and having this same role get notified when a response is posted, then posted a response, and still nothing. The only thing I can think of is that for some reason, any sort of email procedure doesn't work when you are in a 'localhost' environment. I would imagine someone here knows the answer to this fairly quickly. Thanks in advance!

Have you logged in as Host and gone to Host Settings->Advanced Settings->SMTP Settings and setup your SMTP server and tested it? Also, make sure your admin and host users have valid email addresses.

Actually, right after I posted this, I thought to myself "hey, you never checked the settings!" Sure enough, that was all I needed to do. Thanks for the reply.
