Hi guys,

I'm curious as one of my clients specifically asked me if DNN can handle 5M page views per day.  Did anyone have any experience on this?

Regards,

Jayvee

That depends.  There's really a lot more to that question than just DNN - hardware, network, etc.

"Can DNN handle 5M page views per day on a 486 DX33 with a 2.8k modem?"  Most likely not, but that's not DNN's fault, the problem is the bad hard ware and slow connection.

Thank you Mr. MobileNow,

Currently, our hardware runs on a Dual Xeon 3.xGhz with 2GB ram and at least 4x120GB HDD.  It is co-located at a datacenter with, lets just say a large bandwidth of at least 4000GB to 7000GB data transfer rate / month.

I am pretty sure that the hardware can take the amount of load we are expecting as this is the same hardware specification we are using currently for an old custom made site.

So it still stands if DNN itself, especially the framework can handle such a load / day.

Regards,

Jayvee

Is the SQL Server running on the same machine?

I just did the math, and 5M page views comes out to be about 60 requests per second if I am correct.  I don't think single machine would really be able to handle that.

I would venture to say that DotNetNuke.com probobally doesn't get 5M page views in a month.  Maybe a core teamer can expand on that a bit.
