Hi everyone. I'm new to the whole idea of DotNetNuke, but am pretty familiar with some BASIC website design and functionality. I do a lot of work in CAD and Graphics programs, so I'm comfortable with technology and computers, but have no real background in any sort of programming.  So, the quick question:  If I was going to take a class or read a book, where's the best place to start?  I've read the "DNN for Dummies" book, but if I am interested in getting into some more "high end" functionality and control over a DNN site, where's SQUARE ONE?  Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.  And if this isn't the right place to post this question, feel free to move/delete it, but also feel free to point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

Personally I'd Suggest looking at DNN Creative. Lee Does a great Job of taking people through lots of tasks and it is all arranged in bitesize video portions. Generally I'd say square one is use the sytem. If you've come from a grphics background then look at skinning and The dnn creative tutorial will be invaluable for that I assure you. If you fancy trying out programming Look at the post at the top of the extend it forum on this site as micheal washington has a great set of tutorials. Try out the Core modules and projects and also look on snow covered for anyothers you may want/like/need The best advice generally though is play there are training course run by engage but theya re limited to st louis. And whilst the books may be good they are generally out of date extra quickly. Hope this Helps John

You might be supprised that you can do everything you need without programming at all.  OK its good to get in to making modules and stuff but my advice is to build a live website and over time you will become an expert

Cheers
