My website appears to have a refreshing issue.

I can’t maximize Page Settings or Advanced Settings on a page or module or in things like Host Settings etc.

Every time I click on the maximize sign (+) the page automatically refreshes, pushing me back to the regular page layout where Page Settings and Advanced Settings are minimized.

I queried my DNN host and they only said that it may be a Java setting or cookies related issue with my browser. I have no idea what I’m even supposed to be looking for here.

DNN was working perfectly when I used it a couple of weeks ago. Since then I haven’t made any changes to my browser or to my DNN settings. I do have McAfee Security Centre installed on my computer and that does random updates by itself. Is this likely to be the culprit?

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

The website is running DNN version 04.04.01

Does it do this when you're logged in only or all the time? If you're logged in as Admin or Host is the site perhaps in Design mode? Do you have a URL so that we could see this?

Hi Mike.  It happens when I'm logged in only, as I don't think you can access Page Settings or Advanced Settings without being logged in?  I'm logged in as Super User / Host.  I haven't heard of Design Mode - how do I check to see if my site is in this mode?  Bearing in mind this site was working perfectly only two weeks ago and as far as I'm aware I haven't altered any site settings.

Here is a URL to a page I've set up to highlight the issue.

Username:  TrialLogin
Password: templogin

Login using the above username and password and then click on the page called Media Articles. I’ve set the permissions on this page so that you can add modules and edit the page settings.

Once you’ve clicked on the page called Media Articles if you then click on Settings (under Page Functions at the top left hand side of the screen) you are presented with a Page Management screen. At the bottom of this page is Advanced Settings with a ‘+’ that you click on to maximize options under Advanced Settings. Here is where my problem occurs – whenever I click on the maximize button (+) the screen refreshes immediately and the Page Management screen appears again with Advanced Settings minimized.

The same issue occurs when trying to access the Advanced Settings and Page Settings of the Text/HTML Module, which I’ve added to the page. In fact any minimized button (+) on my website can’t be maximized – the screen just refreshes as described above.

Many thanks,

Lindy

Hi Lindy!

Just wondering if you had any luck in resolving your issue.  We are seeing the same issue.  We've tried clearing cookies, updating IE settings but nothing seems to work.  We think it may be a Vista thing, but we don't know.

If you have had any luck resolving your issue we'd love to hear what you did.

Thanks!

Rachael
