I think Joomla! is child of Mambo, don't know of a relationship between Drupal and Joomla! except they are both PHP-mySQL based.

OK ... I was just hoping to hear more about the strengths and issues of these. They are often described as more "mature" than DNN even by committed DNN-folk.

Ahh you are correct, my bad. Shows you how long I have been using DNN, my PHP CMS history is rusty :P

None the less certainly the ones you list, for a PHP CMS, I would classify as 'mature'. However 'more mature then DNN'? I do not know if I would agree with that. I would say they are roughly on par with DNN as it relates to features, modules, stability and the like. As far as a PHP and .NET package can be compariable that is.

Personally I like DNN better. The other issue I have with PHP/MySQL based packages is they are, inherently, not very MS platform friendly. Most do not support MSSQL and, frankly, I found it a pain in the arse to get PHP to work properly with IIS. I simply installed apache to run my PHP site as I found it worked a whole lot better and was easier to setup. When, like I do, you have a copy of SBS 2003 and SQL2005 you want to use them not have them collect dust.
