Thomas,

your issue is related on your caching.  Try to delete your cache, and I suggest try different Cache settings.

Tried all of that in many different combinations.  None of them fixed the problems.  I really can't wait very long for next version.  My members are basically forcing me to replace it with Active Forums this weekend so things can run smoother.

Hello - First off let me say that I'm new so I hoping I'm doing this correctly. I am having the problem that is being discussed here (timeout causes error in post and forum). Here is the message I get:

Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value at System.Web.Caching.CacheEntry..ctor(String key, Object value, CacheDependency dependency, CacheItemRemovedCallback onRemovedHandler, DateTime utcAbsoluteExpiration, TimeSpan slidingExpiration, CacheItemPriority priority, Boolean isPublic) at System.Web.Caching.CacheInternal.DoInsert(Boolean isPublic, String key, Object value, CacheDependency dependencies, DateTime utcAbsoluteExpiration, TimeSpan slidingExpiration, CacheItemPriority priority, CacheItemRemovedCallback onRemoveCallback, Boolean replace) at System.Web.Caching.Cache.Insert(String key, Object value, CacheDependency dependencies) at DotNetNuke.Services.Cache.FileBasedCachingProvider.FBCachingProvider.Insert(String CacheKey, Object objObject, Boolean PersistAppRestart) at DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.DataCache.SetCache(String CacheKey, Object objObject) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.ThreadInfo.GetThreadInfo(Int32 ThreadID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.Posts..ctor(DNNForum forum) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.DNNForum.CreateObject() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.DNNForum.CreateChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.EnsureChildControls() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.ForumBaseControl.EnsureChildControls() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.DNNForum.Initialize() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.ForumBaseControl.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I understand and realize that the issue will be fixed in the next release/update of the forum module, but is there a way I can delete the post that caused this error? Thanks in advance.

The solution was serevral times posted here!

Go my settings subscribt to all Forums and save it.  Restart the application,  try a post.  If it works you can unsubscribt the notifications in my settings.

Matthias- Thanks for your prompt response and I apologize if I wasn't clear in my previous post. I can post in the forum without issue however I still have a thread that shows as posted by anonymous that I am not able to delete. This thread also contains some main forum controls (page, new thread, display, etc). I would like to know if it is possible to delete this thread either in the DB or the file manager in an attempt to resolve my display issue. You should be able to see for yourself what I am referring to by going here: http://wags-world.com/dnn/WagsWorldForum/tabid/59/forumid/5/scope/threads/Default.aspx

I have performed the steps you advised and I still have the thread that I am NOT able to delete. I have also attempted to upgrade/reinstall the Forum module...still same issue. Is there a way to delete said thread, do I have to wait until the next release or do I just have to live with it? Thanks in advance.

If you are logged in as a host you can't by default settings delete.  The Host have no admin rights.  So please add the Host user to the Edit permissions, or login as a admin.  I am sure you can then delete that post.
