After digging through older posts, this appears to be a common problem, but none of the proposed solutions solved my problem, so here goes... My search results are empty. I only have one occurrence of the search results module -- and that includes the recycling bin -- have dumped the search tables and re-indexed the site, and am not running any SEF 3rd party modules, yet I continue to get empty results. Any suggestions? Speaking of the search tables, after I re-index the site, what tables should be populated? The only one I see populated is 'SearchItem' while 'SearchItemWord' and 'SearchItemPosition' remain empty. Thanks.

Have you logged in as a "host" and made sure that the Search task is running?  If yes, be sure to check the history for it to make sure that it has been running error free.  Also, check your Event Log in the Admin Menu to make sure that there are no related errors when it runs.

The Scheduler is running fine (all executions = True) and there are no exception errors in the Log Viewer. All appears to be in order. Yet when I execute a search, no results are returned.

I'm at a loss.

After the search tables have been dumped, which tables should be populated when the site is re-indexed...SearchItem only?

Although I am sure that this is not happening to you, one item to note is that the search will not execute if less than 4 characters are entered.

Aside from that, yes, the SearchItem, SearchItemWord, SearchItemWordPosition, and SearchWord tables are all supposed to be populated.  I am also at a loss if that table is not populated following a successful run of the Search task.

Thanks, Will.

It's truly unusual. The SearchItem table is populated after the Search task runs, but the other three (SearchItemWord, SearchItemWordPosition, SearchWord) are all empty. No errors.

I considered completely emptying the Recycle Bin to make sure there are no extraneous versions of the Search Results module laying around, but that would have no effect on the tables being unpopulated.
